Victory for Christoff Corten and Bert Longin in 4th round of the BEC

Christoff Corten and Bert Longin claimed victory in the 4th round of the Belcar Endurance Championship on the mythic Spa-Francorchamps track at the wheel of their Krafft Racing Norma M20FC. Corten took the checkered flag and finished in front of three other Norma prototypes and several Lamborghini Supertrofeo and Porsche 911. “It’s an incredible victory!” says Corten proudly defending the colours of his new sponsor Containers Maes.

Christoff Corten: “We qualified in 4th position, which was quite satisfying. It’s always an advantage to start in front in these kind of races but pole position is not mandatory. Bert and I prepared the race in the smallest details while Krafft Racing team took care of the strategy. This team is really great and I’m already looking forward to the Zolder 24 Hours. But let’s talk about last weekend. Bert had a good start avoiding the pitfalls, without taking too many risks and while preserving the car and tires. We climbed up and took the lead after one third of the race distance to keep P1 till the checkered flag. I started my stint with a well balanced car and I was not forced to take risks to stay in the lead. I’m delighted with this victory and we are now well prepared for the Zolder 24 Hours, the main event of the championship. I’m convinced we have everything in hand to battle for victory: a reliable car, experienced drivers and a professional team structure. This race at Spa also allowed us to gather precious points for the championship ranking.”

The Zolder 24 Hour event will start on Thursday August 8 with free practices and qualifying sessions, while the start of the race will be given on Saturday August 10.
